I am passionate about the work I do as a counsellor, and I find immense joy and learning through my journey in this profession. As an immigrant from a collectivist community, I understand the incredible strength that comes from having support and how crucial it is to resilience. Navigating the complexities of fitting a collectivistic perspective into an individualistic society has shaped my approach to therapy, guiding me to create a sense of community and support for those who feel isolated. My foremost goal as a therapist is to ensure you feel safe and supported. I have extensive experience working with individuals who have faced trauma, abuse, and violence. The therapeutic tools I use are tailored to your unique needs and goals for therapy. While I provide education and perspective, I believe you are the expert in your own life. One of my favourite storytellers, Brené Brown, said, “Vulnerability sounds like truth and feels like courage.” My aim is to create a therapeutic space where you feel empowered to embrace vulnerability, allowing yourself to be truly seen and heard. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, PTSD, abuse, culture shock, stress (academic, work-related, parenting), body image issues, and fostering self-compassion. The tools I incorporate into my practice include DBT skills, CBT techniques, Sensorimotor techniques, Narrative practices, and Parts-work. I offer services in both English and Hindi, and I am here to walk with you on your journey towards healing and growth. Together, we can build a path that honours your experiences and supports your well-being.
